  1. Nuke Lefties says:

Hell No! That game said more about Okie U then it did about Boise St. Let them play a SEC, Big 12 or even Pac 10 schedule and go undefeated then we can talk. They had a great season, in the WAC.

  2. b-cool says:

    Not unless Ohio looses.

Based on strength of schedule, they are not #1, but if Ohio should loose, then yes, they should.

One vote won’t give you a split the National Championship. The BCS was designed so that there would be a clear cut outright winner.

  4. GETT-325A says:

no. they won the fiesta bowl. they are the fiesta bowl champions. the national championship is between florida and ohio state. ohio state is gonna win.

  5. pepepippy says:

No but they should be able to play against the Number 1 spot for it. They need to revamp the whole system

  6. Robert says:

There is no real national title only a mythical national title. They should receive some credit. The fact that they beat 4 bowl winners plus Oklahoma means alot. I would say yes they should share it. The BCS won’t allow that but it would be justified in my mind.

After that game against Oklahoma I say give it to them if Ohio State loses yeah. College football doesn’t give everyone a chance to win like they do in basketball. No it’s a popularity contest and whoever gets to prove themselves with their schedule apparently should win according to them. I say Boise State earns their spot in the light.

  8. Matt K says:

For the last time, the BCS is and has been the official system to determine the ONE and the ONLY national champion for the last 8 or 9 years.

Only ONE of the two teams playing in the national title game can possibly be considered the champion – that’s Florida or OSU…no one else!

  9. iin_operator says:

Unless Ohio State blows out Florida, Boise State deserves the unbiased AP National Championship.

They beat Oregon State earlier in the year, which beat USC, which blow out Michigan in the Rose Bowl, which many felt was just as good as Ohio State.

To declare Ohio State the undisputed National Champ after anything less than a blowout of Florida would be highway robbery.

I doubt Ohio State will beat Florida after seeing the way the Big 10 has played in the Bowl Games. Only Penn State actually deserved to win their bowl game based on the way they played. Arkansas beat the crap out of Wisconsin for 4 quarters and still somehow lost that game on a miracle field goal. I’ve got the feeling that Florida will blow out Ohio State (as a result of the Michigan game; I thought it was a tossup before the Rose Bowl) and the AP will give the Broncos that National Title which they deserve.

Don’t even think about using the strength of schedule excuse. The only reason the Broncos don’t play major powers is because the USCs, Floridas, and Ohio States of the world are afraid to play them. That rumor’s long been circulating and it appears to be true.

After all the money that’s about to go to the mid-majors after this game, they’re going to be competing with the powers. Louisville is just 2 or 3 years removed from being a mid-major and never had as good a season in Conference USA. Boise State is still a mid-major and probably number 1 in the country. Both of those teams won their bowl games, which says alot about how strong the mid-majors actually are. The monopoly on top talent that the Big 10, Big 12, Pac-10, SEC, and ACC have long had is cracking, just as Notre Dame, Army, and Navy’s monopolies before them.

Unfortunately they only beat one ranked oponent. They need to start getting tougher teams on their schedule if they want to remain in the top tier of football programs. As much as I liked to see them beat Oklahoma, I don’t think they would have gone undefeated if they played in one of the “tougher” conferences. They needed a lot of trick plays to go just right to win that game, and as well all know, they don’t usually work. If OSU wins the NC game, they definatly shouldn’t split the title. If Florida wins, it could be a different story, especially in the AP poll.

  11. Bill V says:

Unless and until the NCAA develops a true playoff system, then yes, they have as much claim to the title as either Ohio State or Florida do. If you’re unbeaten, you’re the champ until someone proves otherwise. And neither Florida or Ohio State has shown that they can beat Boise State this year. If either of them want the title, undisputed, then they need to beat Boise State on the field.
